Designwise produced design and technical documents for this beautiful 2-bed, 2-bath open plan mountain cabin.
The structure is an efficient A-frame shape with a custom "trafter" (combination of a rafter and truss). Large windows to the southeast connect occupants to gorgeous mountain views while flooding the interior with welcoming morning sunlight.

The Whittier neighborhood of Denver is home to several brick homes built around 1900. I am excited to be the architect for the renovation of one of these homes.
We are going to build a new floating stair to an open master suite attic. Downstairs, we are planning a family room addition to the rear. We are also taking out the wall between the dining and kitchen and reconfiguring the kitchen space to add an island. The plans include a two-car garage with attached work-from-home office space. The design vibe is a warm, bright, light-filled industrial aesthetic with plenty of moody blacks against contrasting natural wood tones.

For the growing family that needs more space!We are providing plans for a second story addition that will include 3 new bedrooms, one of which is a new master suite with a ribbon of windows to let in lots of natural light.
The first-floor living room will get a vaulted ceiling and a new wall of windows to the south and east to let in all the natural light and allow for views out to the wooded yard.

This project is a complete renovation of a side-by-side duplex into an up-down duplex in the Valley Village neighborhood of LA. The project includes a second-story addition and additions on the front, side, and rear of the house. The project also includes a two-story rental apartment in the backyard. Designwise first provided a feasibility analysis and then design and drafting services before working closely with a local architect, contractor, and structural engineer to help permit and build the project. By wrapping the existing structure with all new construction, we were able to completely change how the building looks, going from "meh" to "wow"! The owner is very impressed that this is his building.

Designwise designed this custom guest bath renovation for a home in the Whittier neighborhood of Denver.
The bath design is an exercise in small space engineering and will be truly one-of-a-kind with tile that extends to the ceiling on all 4 walls, hidden cove lighting and an accent tile in the shower, teak wood accents, and a wall-hung toilet.
The design was carefully crafted based on the homeowner's dream bathroom. Even the plumber commented on how beautiful the design is!

This rear addition and renovation is for a rear of a 100+ year old home in the City Park neighborhood of Denver. This house is one of the very few homes on 17th Avenue that faces City Park, making it a special place in the city.
Designing and building on a tight urban site and strong existing form like this poses many challenges but with plenty of studying, design iterations, and close attention to the owner's needs and wants, I designed a functional and well-proportioned project worthy of praise.
